Character Set

Whitney is available in the three editions Basic, Advanced, and Pro, each containing a progressively larger set of styles and characters. Each of these editions is available in one of three alphabets: the standard Latin-X™ character set, Greek, or Cyrillic-X™. The Whitney Multiscript package integrates Pro editions of all three alphabets into a single set of OpenType fonts. A complete list of languages appears below.

Font Features

Whitney’s character set is differently arranged in PostScript and OpenType versions of the fonts. OpenType fonts always provide the fullest access to any font’s features, when used in supporting applications.7

Language Support

Whitney’s Basic, Advanced, and Pro editions are available in any of three alphabets. Fonts with H&FJ’s standard Latin-X™ character set support the principal languages of Western and Central Europe, the Americas, and Australia. Fonts with the Cyrillic-X™ character set support the principal languages of Russia, Eastern Europe, the Baltic states, and most of the former Soviet Socialist Republics. Fonts with the Greek character set support the Greek language. The Whitney Multiscript package contains the complete range of available languages.
